MEET THE TRAINER

CHARLIE GOGGIN

Goggin

CHARLIE GOGGIN has earned a reputation as a master trainer and an astute judge of horseflesh.

For the best part of two decades he has dominated the Tasmanian training ranks winning 12 premierships and he continues to win his share of feature races in his home state.

He was one of the inaugural inductees into the Tasmanian Racing Hall of Fame which is testament to his achievements in the sport.

Goggin has won multiple Hobart Cups along with numerous juvenile classics and the Tasmania Derby is the only feature race on the Tasmania calendar to elude the astute mentor.

He enjoyed a stellar season in 2008-09 with his gallant sprinter-miler Conquering and that horse was crowned the undisputed Tasmanian Horse of the Year.

Goggin usually has a couple of better than average two-year-olds in his midst and the 2009-10 season was no exception with the highly promising Beau Vallon (x Lonhro) and Rose Of Scotland (x Stratum) earning star status.

Beau Vallon was given a break after finishing on the heels of the placegetters in the $150,000 Gold Sovereign Stakes while Rose of Scotland scored an impressive win in the $100,000 Magic Millions Classic on Launceston Cup day 2010.

Goggin operates stables at Brighton and at his training-breeding complex in the farm he has in the country at Runnymede as well as utilising a beach-training environment at Seven Mile Beach. This ensures the horses he trains can be moved around to ensure that each is accommodated to bring out the best in its performance.

All Pine Lane Syndicated horses are trained by the Hall of Fame trainer Charlie Goggin who has been the leading trainer 12 times..

Charlie Goggin also trained Sunny Lane which he took to run in Hong Kong and, as noted his current champion,  Conquering
